Poster Submissions
We are requesting all Gelato Members to send us an update on their institution's Itanium-related work to be displayed at Gelato ICE 2007 in Singapore only if you did not submit a poster for the April ICE in San Jose.
Whether or not you plan on attending the conference, we are requesting nine slides related to your institution's research that will be made into a poster. We also request you send a 1-2 sentence text summary for each project shown on your poster.
The deadline for slide and text submission is August 10, 2007. Send the text, slides, and original presentation to Andrew Schuh at aschuh@gelato.org.
Poster Template Directions
Members Using Power Point
For those members who use Power Point, open your Power Point presentation. Choose File / Page Setup. You are probably set for On-screen show, however the size must be exactly 8.5" x 11". Make the changes in the width and height values. Finally, make sure that landscape is selected for Slide Orientation. Click OK. Now, choose File / Save As. Within the menu that pops up, choose to save as TIFF and select OK. You will now have a choice to save the Selected Slide or All Slides. Choose All Slides. The slides are now saved on your hard drive. Now, select the nine slides you want on a poster and e-mail them to the address above. In addition, please e-mail the original PowerPoint file.
Members Using Linux / Open Office
For those members who are using Linux, we recommend using Open Office Impress (a Power Point-like program for Open Office). Open the file with the slides. Choose Format/Page. Be sure to select letter size. Inside Impress, select File / Export and export as TIFF. Select the nine slides you want on a poster and e-mail them to the address above. In addition, please e-mail the original Impress file.
Members Using an Alternative Method
For those members who do not have access to PowerPoint or Open Office, save your slides as post script files (nine separate post script files). In addition, please attach all graphics used to create the slides. If necessary, we can recreate the slides on this side using the PostScript files as a guide. Remember to send PostScript files / graphics for nine slides and e-mail them to the address above.
